The Mobile Farmacy

At Walton Wellness, we know that Food Is Medicine. Our Mobile Farmacy Bus helps us to bring healthy food to those that need it most.

Our Mission

The Mobile Farmacy is a repurposed school bus dedicated to bringing healthy food & holistic health education experiences to those in Walton County.

Purpose

History

To serve as a universal tool for Walton County organizations providing community events and hands-on education for adults and children with an emphasis on nutrition, activity, water, and agriculture.

The Mobile Farmacy is the brainchild of Walton Wellness Inc., The Walton County Health Care Foundation Inc. and its community partners. Its creation stemmed from the need for a wider reach into our community with the efforts of Walton Wellness. It is made possible through the support of The Walton County Health Care Foundation Inc. and the City of Social Circle.

The Mobile Farmacy Market

The summer Mobile Farmacy Market is held weekly through the summer for qualifying families in Walton county. The Market provides free produce to financially burdened citizens who need assistance in adding healthy, fresh foods to their diet.

While the focus of the market is not hunger, our purpose is to provide a hands-on educational experience for our members to help support a healthy lifestyle for those that are not able to afford the healthiest of foods. In addition to produce at each market we provide healthy recipes and cooking demonstrations.

The Produce
The produce for the market is sourced primarily from our Field Garden located at the Walton County Sheriff’s Office. We also receive produce donations from numerous Grow A Row sites across the county. We could not provide for the number o families that we do without the help of these partners:

A Kid’s World Childcare Learning Center

Carver Middle School FFA

The Grove Church Walnut Grove & The Girl Scouts

Uniting Hope 4 Children

Loganville Christian Academy

Corinth Missionary Baptist Church of Social Circle

Market Members
Membership to the market is acquired through a registration process prior to the start of the market. Each member is given a membership card and reusable bags once registered. Applications are accepted based on financial need and our produce capacity.

Vision Statement: For all market produce to be grown locally and donated to our members.
